To resolve this problem one has two options firstly the cathylatic convertor should be replaced which is a very costly repair,alternatively the existing cat should be cleaned out with additional changes to be made at bank 1 and bank 2 oxygen sensor ports to put out engine management light. 1005 posts · Joined 2014. #16 · Jun 8, 2017. its the camshaft dephaser solenoid that needs swapping first on the intake side under left of the air filter housing (under 1 hour job) the other quote you had was for the camshaft dephaser sprocket/cog/pulley, this is a bigger job, but 9/10 it will be the solenoid at fault, held in by one 10mm bolt.

It measures the air inflow and sends signals to the computer, I can confirm that the diagnosis given may be correct, it was on my C5 when I first acquired it. Easy to replace and available on Ebay
